Welcome To Jerry Wise Music

Never in a million years could I have imagined myself traveling the U.S. and playing original music to bring hope and encouragement to others. The truth is, I did not even desire to be a singer/songwriter. Why would you want to take such a great stress reliever like music and turn it into something so potentially stressful? That was my thinking ... until I read a letter by the Apostle Paul. He says that if you have a gift, you should use it.

Simple, but profound.

I realized that not using a gift that God gives, is like receiving a huge gift certificate to your favorite store but never spending it. What a waste, right?

I believe that every person has been given multiple God-gifts. These could be used to accomplish such great, life-changing things. And yet, for one reason or another we rarely use them. Probably one of the biggest reasons is our fear. Fear of rejection or fear of failure.

In all honesty, the last place I want to be is in the center of attention. That would have been a great reason to throw in the towel. However, God, my family, and my friends all pushed me to get in front of people, and even though I was petrified, I knew I was it was a calling on my life.

As I stepped out, the doors began to open. Before I knew it I had enough songs, the opportunity to record, and the support of my family to go out and use my gift.

God has continued to be faithful to provide as I have developed in my music and message. I believe He will continue to do so because I still feel His pleasure when I sing.

The story

“For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.”

- Romans 11:29
